TCEducate: Industrial history of SE Como

The next installment of TCEducate is Thursday, February 12, 6:00pm – 8:30pm at Van Cleve. SECIA is proud to continue this series of lectures & info sessions created to raise our neighborhood’s understanding of everything surrounding the contamination and the work that’s being done to clean it up. The February 12th TCEducate lecture focuses on the Industrial history of SE Como and will cover 2 topics. First, we will unveil a new mapping resource that will demonstrate SE Como industries over time along with known pollution locations. Then, professor Pete Raynor from the Uof MN will cover standard industrial practices through the decades as it relates to the industrial history of Como. There will be free refreshments.

Other topics covered so far include TCE Health effects, the Superfund Process, and Remediation Technologies.  Future topics may include Class Action Lawsuits, Geology and Hydrology, Indoor Air Quality and more. These lectures are designed help put our situation in a broader context and continue us on the path of becoming an informed population, able to understand and participate in discussions on the future of our neighborhood.
