Upcoming Safety related events

Here is the schedule of events for the next few weeks. Thanks to everyone for your involvement thus far. If you haven't gotten involved with an event and would like to, email us at secomo@secomo.org

Wednesday, November 6, 3-6 pm: Flyering along 15th ave SE. We will have tents set up on 15th and Brooks with coffee and information. People will be handing out safety flyers at the bus stops as well.

Friday, November 8, 5:30- 7:30 pm at Southeast Christian Church, 960 15th Ave SE: Dinner and a discussion on Sexual Violence led by The Aurora Center, Solidarity and Safety walk: Katie Eichele, Director of the Aurora Center, will lead a discussion focusing on the hows and whys of sexual violence and what we can do to prevent it. Dinner will be provided. At 6:30, we'll walk together around the neighborhood to identify safety concerns and show our solidarity as a community.

Wednesday, November 13, 6:30-8:30 pm at Van Cleve Park: SECIA Annual meeting. Our keynote speaker is 2nd Precinct Inspector Kathy Waite. We will elect new boardmembers and hear from President Wendy Menken on the state of Como.

Monday, November 18, 6-7:30 pm at University Lutheran Church of Hope, 601 13th Ave SE: Second Precinct Advisory Council. The 2nd Precinct is having a Focus on Safety and Crime Prevention meeting. PAC meets once a month, and all are welcome to attend one or more. PAC is the citizens' opportunity to meet with Minneapolis Police Dept. Second Precinct and supporting personnel. It is a place to raise questions, talk about concerns.

Wednesday, December 11, 6 pm. at Van Cleve Park: Third Blueprint Public meeting. This is Como's Small Area Plan Committee meeting. Come review our work so far and comment on the document prior to final drafting.
